Registered Nurse (RN) - Acute Care / Medical Surgical

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel position in Acute Care / Medical Surgical. This role involves working nights, specifically on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, with a primary focus on telemetry and progressive care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough nursing assessments and provide high-quality patient care in a medical-surgical setting.
  • Administer medications and manage IV starts and ICU drips as needed.
  • Utilize telemetry monitoring to assess patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes in status.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices and compliance with all healthcare regulations.
Requirements
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in an acute care or medical-surgical setting is preferred.
  • Experience with telemetry and progressive care nursing is required.
Work Schedule

This position requires night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Block scheduling may be offered, and there are no on-call requirements.

Patient Care Information
  • The facility has a total of 40 licensed beds, including 10 swing beds.
  • The nursing unit comprises 20 beds with an average monthly department volume reflecting an average daily census of 10 patients.
  • The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:6 for acute care and 1:10 for swing bed patients.

Additional Information

The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, effective communication abilities, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment. Experience with Cerner EMR is preferred.
