Sterile Processing Technician

JOB LOCATION - Wilkes-Barre General Hospital - Days w/ rotating on call wknd/holidays

Position Purpose

Sterile Processing Technician provides sterile surgical instrumentation and disinfects equipment for Surgical Services and Clinical departments throughout the hospital.

Position Qualifications

Education:

High school diploma or GED,

Experience/Specialized Skills/Aptitudes

Prior knowledge of basic principles of sterilization, surgical instrumentation and disinfecting preferred. Communication skills, listening abilities, ability to deal with stress, able to react to emergency and crisis situations.

Licenses/Certificates:

Must be a Certified registered central service technician within 18 months of hire.
