Emergency Physicians Inc. Columbus is an independent, 100% physician‑owned democratic group located in Columbus, Indiana. We staff the emergency department at Columbus Regional Hospital, an independent county‑owned 225‑bed facility with a 48,000 annual ED volume. The hospital is a 24/7 Cath‑lab STEMI referral center, Primary Stroke Center, and offers 24/7 Tele‑neuro coverage, ICU, and adult/pediatric hospitalist programs. OB > 20 weeks goes to L/D for evaluation for any pregnancy related complaint.

Benefits & Compensation

Competitive compensation includes a $100,000 sign‑on bonus, a partner track with base salary plus paid overtime and bonus, extra shifts, and holidays. Benefits are 100% covered medical, dental, and vision insurance (including family). CME reimbursement, DEA, CSR, ABEM, medical license fees are covered. A 14% retirement contribution after 12 months/1000 hours.

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
• Current medical license and board certification in emergency medicine
• Proven experience as an Emergency Medicine Physician
• Strong ability to make decisions quickly and manage clinical emergencies effectively
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate patient interaction focus
• Open to relocation to Columbus, Indiana
• Open to becoming a partner after an initial 2‑year employment period
• Commitment to a full‑time schedule of approximately 1,300 hours annually

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality medical care to patients in an emergency room setting
• Assess patients quickly, prioritize high acuity conditions, and deliver efficient treatment
• Coordinate with healthcare professionals to plan, implement, and assess interventions
• Administer medications and perform procedures as necessary under established guidelines
• Record patient information meticulously, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
• Guide and supervise the emergency healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes
• Stay current with advancements in the field to maintain a high standard of care
• Participate in continuous education, training, and certifications as required
• Contribute to the governance and operational management of the hospital's emergency services
• Maintain a professional demeanor and uphold the highest levels of clinical standards
• Provide support to nocturnist schedules with adaptability for 2–3 fewer shifts per month compared to other shifts
