We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented DOT Safety Specialist to ensure our transportation operations comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and safety standards. In this pivotal role, you will oversee regulatory compliance management, conduct safety audits, and implement best practices to promote a culture of safety within our logistics and supply chain activities. Your expertise will help safeguard our team, assets, and operations while maintaining adherence to federal and international trade regulations. Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor DOT safety policies aligned with transportation safety regulations and logistics compliance standards.
• Conduct regular audits of freight operations to ensure adherence to OSHA, FDA regulations, and international trade regulations.
• Manage customs brokerage processes, including customs clearance management and compliance with customs regulations.
• Utilize global trade management software and Excel data analysis tools to prepare detailed regulatory reporting and risk assessments.
• Oversee export management activities, ensuring compliance with Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctions and export controls.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure import management procedures are compliant with all applicable laws.
• Provide training on transportation safety regulations, customs clearance procedures, and trade compliance for team members.
• Maintain thorough documentation of compliance activities, audit results, incident reports, and regulatory filings.
  

Experience

• Proven experience in logistics or supply chain roles with a focus on regulatory compliance management.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, transportation safety regulations, and international trade laws.
• Familiarity with customs brokerage management, customs clearance processes, and export/import procedures.
• Technical proficiency in using global trade management software, Excel for data analysis, and report writing tools.
• Experience managing compliance programs related to FDA regulations, OFAC sanctions, and freight security protocols.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret complex regulations related to logistics compliance and risk management.
• Excellent communication skills for conducting training sessions, preparing reports, and collaborating across departments.
