Lead Facility Maintenance Tech

Job Title

As part of the machine/building maintenance team, the person in this position leads highly complex repairs, modifications and preventative maintenance on buildings, facilities, equipment, fixtures and systems.

Job Description

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Diagnoses, troubleshoots, and repair complex HVAC systems and equipment.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on commercial and industrial HVAC systems.
• Install, test, and commission HVAC equipment, including:
• Chillers
• Boilers
• Air handling units (AHUs)
• Rooftop units (RTUs)
• Variable air volume (VAV) systems
• Cooling towers
• Pumps and motors
• Split systems and VRF systems
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and control sequences.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and control-related issues.
• Work with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and energy management systems.
• Perform refrigerant recovery and charging in compliance with EPA regulations.
• Monitor system performance and recommend operational improvements.
• Coordinate major repairs and equipment replacements with contractors and vendors.
• Ensure all work complies with OSHA, EPA, local codes, and company safety standards.
• Complete work orders, maintenance logs, inspection reports, and documentation accurately.
• Participate in emergency response and after-hours support as required.
• Assist with project planning, scheduling, and system upgrades.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• HVAC certification or trade school training preferred.
• EPA Universal Certification required.
• Minimum 8 years of commercial or industrial HVAC experience.
• Advanced knowledge of:
• HVAC controls
• Electrical systems
• Refrigeration cycles
• Variable frequency drives (VFDs)

Compensation

This is a salaried non-exempt role. This means that employees are paid a salary and also receive overtime pay when they work more than 40 hours in a week (or as otherwise required by state law). The starting salary range for this role and market is between $68,000 - $89,250 annually. Factors that may affect starting salary include geography/market and the skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for the BroadBase Incentive (BBI) program with a target payout of 2%.

Location and Schedule

This position is located in Richardson, TX and will be in the office Monday through Friday.
