This job is typically an 8‑week assignment. It acts as a leader in the provision of patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice. The role effectively delegates, directs, and assists licensed and ancillary team members; assumes accountability for quality patient outcomes; exhibits sensitivity to cultural, ethnic and religious diversity in all interactions; maintains involvement in activities aimed toward the achievement of unit and the department’s strategic goals and objectives; and demonstrates professional responsibility and accountability for his/her own practice while supporting the company’s philosophy of nursing. Content is subject to change at the company’s discretion. Education Required – Registered nurse diploma. Preferred – Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing. Work Experience Required – 1 year of experience as a registered nurse. Certifications Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice (required). Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (required). Certification in a clinical specialty area (preferred). Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally. Proficiency in using computers, software, and web‑based applications. Ability to demonstrate good judgement. Strong interpersonal skills. Job Duties Use the nursing process in the delivery of patient care. Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies appropriate for the diverse needs of patients, families and other disciplines. Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources (human and fiscal) and serve as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team. Use data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change in order to achieve optimal outcomes. Embrace concepts and behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction and employee morale and improve the profession of nursing. Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, respecting privacy, modulating introductions and explanations of services or procedures, and requesting permissions in appropriate ways.
