Pharmacy Technician (Inpatient & IV Sterile Prep) (On-site, Harrisburg, PA 17101)

• Job Type: Full-Time, Direct-Hire (Permanent placement on company payroll with full benefits; not a temporary job)
• Location: Harrisburg, PA 17101 
• Schedule: Full-Time, Rotating Shift (Rotating daylight and evening shifts; includes rotating holiday and weekend coverage in a fast-paced hospital setting)
• New Hire Starting Base Pay: $20.10 – $22.62 per hour (Starting salary placement is determined by direct pharmacy technician experience, sterile compounding expertise, and education.)
• Future Earning Potential: Position salary range progresses up to $30.17 per hour over time through performance, tenure, and pharmacy career ladder advancement.

Mandatory Qualifications

• Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalent 
• Pharmacy Technician Qualifications:  Successful completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program  AND a minimum of two (2) years of pharmacy technician experience.
• Licensure & Clearances: Active PA State Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration (or active Pharmacy Intern License) required.
• Technical & Regulatory Proficiency: Experience in sterile compounding (aseptic technique, IV admixtures, TPN, cytotoxic/hazardous drugs), automated dispensing technology, and state/federal regulatory compliance (HIPAA, OSHA, DEA controlled substance accounting).
• Customer Service & Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to interface with clinical staff, patients, and visitors, and accurately route drug information queries to Staff Pharmacists.

How You'll Make an Impact

• Medication Preparation & Sterile Compounding: Accurately count, label, and fill oral/injectable medication orders; apply proper aseptic technique in sterile product areas to prepare IV admixtures, TPN, and chemotherapy/hazardous medications.
• Inventory & Automated Dispensing Management: Procure, restock, and maintain inventory across stock rooms, automated carousels, automated dispensing stations, and emergency crash carts; manage point-of-sale cash register transactions.
• Controlled Substance & Regulatory Compliance: Audit, log, and maintain strict perpetual inventory records for controlled substances; adhere to Joint Commission, Department of Health, and State Board of Pharmacy standards.
• Distribution & Operational Support: Deliver medications and controlled substances across hospital units; retrieve discontinued medications for credit; maintain required logs (eyewash, refrigerator, inventory); assist with investigational drug handling and quality improvement initiatives.
