Licensed Optician Part Time

Job Summary Responsible for dispensing spectacles and other optical products to adults and children, working with prescriptions written by optometrists and ophthalmologists. Advises and assists patients with various types of lenses and spectacle frames, including style, weight, and color. Compensation includes a base pay range of $27.00 per hour and potential spiff bonuses. Benefits Weekly pay every week. Support the application of club policies, procedures, and compliance. Ensure flawless execution, accountability, honesty, integrity, and member focus. Support optical operations: verify order data, process prescriptions, take measurements, manage inventory, handle payments, assist with adjustments and repairs, and maintain cleanliness. Adhere to privacy policies and HIPAA regulations. Assist manager with opening/closing procedures and accurate collection of funds. Perform other duties as assigned and maintain full attendance. Major Tasks & Key Accountabilities Verifies order data entry, compares Rx to original Rx, confirms system accuracy, and files orders correctly. Delivers sales by providing excellent member service in person and over the phone, explaining all procedures. Takes measurements, ensures correct frame selection, reads prescriptions on the lensometer, notifies product readiness, and advances orders. Educates patients on product benefits, recommends options to improve visual needs, and engages members during downtime. Handles all money‑related transactions and maintains accurate records. Supports the manager in opening/closing and payment processing. Maintains all club policies and procedures. Performs additional duties as assigned, with regular, predictable, full attendance as essential. Qualifications Must be licensed to work as an optician in the state and keep the license active. Knowledge of optical products and business practices preferred. High school diploma, college degree, or wholesale/retail/optical experience preferred. Strong interpersonal, organizational skills and attention to detail. Open shift availability required for full‑time positions. Minimum 18 years of age. Environmental Job Conditions Frequent movement on hard surfaces; occasional bending, handling, pulling, reaching, and stooping. May need to lift objects up to 20 pounds; heavier objects may require assistance. Indoor environment with temperature extremes and loud noises; occasional exposure to cleaning agents. Use of optical hand tools for adjusting and repairing eyeglasses. Compensation The base pay range starts at $27.00 per hour.
