ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced ICU Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care in a mixed intensive care unit. This position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.

Unit Information

• Unit: ICU (4th Floor)
• Unit Type: Intensive Care Unit
• Number of Beds: 24
• Patient Ratios: 1:1 to 1:2 for ICU level acuity; 1:3 to 1:4 for PCU level acuity
• Common Diagnoses: Sepsis, COPD, Covid, pneumonia, withdrawal, strokes, immediate open heart recovery, and overflow from cath lab, among others.

Shift and Scheduling

• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift Notes: Day shift from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM; weekend requirements based on unit needs.
• Self-Scheduling: Six-week schedule cycles with balanced reviews by management.
• Weekend Requirement: High need for weekend shifts, particularly Sundays.
• Holiday Requirement: Rotation with permanent staff.

Qualifications

• Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in an ICU setting is required.
• Required Certifications:
  • Washington State or Compact License
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• Preferred Skills:
  • CRRN (Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse)
  • PCCN (Progressive Care Certified Nurse)
  • Management of Swans, Prismaflex CRRT, IABP, and immediate open heart recovery experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient care, including titration of medications and management of various ICU drips.
• Work collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Monitor and interpret patient telemetry, with expectations for setting up and managing monitors.
• Participate in unit-specific orientation and training, including EPIC modules and hands-on preceptorship.
