Location: Onsite – VA Market (Charlottesville, Alexandria, Leesburg, and Fairfax) Work Model: some Travel may be required Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8 AM – 4:30 PM or 8:30 AM - 5 PM EST Status: Full-Time Datavant is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Release of Information (ROI) Health Information Specialists toprovide call support, ROI processing, faxing, burning images to CDs, storage ordering/reviewing atmedical facility in our New Jersey Area. These roles are patient-facing role and areresponsible for processing medical record requests, maintaining HIPAA compliance, and ensuring accurate and timely release of protected health information (PHI). The ideal candidates are organized, adaptable, and experienced in electronic medical record (EMR) systems. These positions require the ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining strict confidentiality standards. Key Responsibilities Process Release of Information (ROI) requests accurately and efficiently Retrieve and compile medical records from EMR systems Ensure HIPAA compliance when handling all protected health information Pull and generate reports as needed Perform administrative functions related to ROI processing Maintain organized documentation and tracking of requests Communicate effectively with healthcare staff, patients, and requestors Provide coverage support when onsite staff are out (PTO/call-outs) Maintain productivity and quality standards Training & Onboarding Datavant DHISC training Hands-on, role-specific training during the first 30 days Preferred Skills Strong communication skills Understanding of HIPAA and patient privacy regulations Computer proficiency and data entry accuracy Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required Must be 18 years of age or older Ability to commute between locations as needed. Pay ranges for this job title may differ based on location, responsibilities, skills, experience, and other requirements of the role. The estimated base pay range per hour for this role is: $15 — $18.32 USD To ensure the safety of patients and staff, many of our clients require post-offer health screenings and proof and/or completion of various vaccinations such as the flu shot, Tdap, COVID-19, etc. Any requests to be exempted from these requirements will be reviewed by Datavant Human Resources and determined on a case-by-case basis.
