Maintenance Technician
Seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot, repair, set up, and improve manufacturing equipment. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical skills, enjoys working with machinery, and can troubleshoot problems independently. PLC programming and troubleshooting experience is required. An electro-mechanical background is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing and automation equipment.
- Set up, test, and adjust machinery for production.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, sensor, and controls issues.
- Install and replace components such as sensors, motors, switches, valves, and actuators.
- Troubleshoot and make changes to PLC and HMI systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance and help reduce equipment downtime.
- Modify or build basic fixtures, brackets, guards, and machine components.
- Work with engineering and production to resolve equipment issues.
- Help production employees with machine setup and basic troubleshooting.
- Document repairs, equipment settings, and maintenance work.
- Follow safety and lockout/tagout procedures.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing maintenance, machine building, automation, mechatronics, or related work.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on machinery experience.
- PLC programming and troubleshooting experience.
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and identify the root cause.
- Ability to read basic mechanical drawings and equipment manuals.
- Reliable, independent, and able to work through problems.
- Comfortable working with engineering and production teams.
- Strong commitment to safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, AutomationDirect, or similar PLCs.
- Experience with electrical systems, wiring, sensors, relays, VFDs, motors, or HMIs.
- Experience with pneumatic systems.
- Experience setting up or commissioning manufacturing equipment or assembly lines.
- Technical degree, trade school, apprenticeship, or equivalent hands-on experience.
