Clinical Pharmacist in Lawrenceville, GA

A 13-week contract opportunity is available for a Clinical Pharmacist specializing in IV/Infusion at a healthcare facility in the greater Atlanta area. The assignment begins in late April or early May with flexible weekday shifts Monday through Friday, either 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or 12:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.


Key Responsibilities:

• Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications in compliance with legal regulations.
• Monitor patient medication usage to ensure adherence and identify any overuse.
• Maintain confidential and accurate patient and pharmacy records.
• Advise patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and answer medication-related questions.
• Provide expert consultation on prescription and non-prescription medications including proper storage, dosage, and drug interactions.
• Compound sterile and non-sterile medications following established protocols.
• Supervise pharmacy support staff such as technicians and clerks.
• Manage pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory efficiently.
• Identify and communicate drug-related problems to physicians and healthcare providers.
• Oversee and maintain the sterile compounding area, ensuring compliance with USP 797 and USP 800 standards.
• Ensure staff competency in sterile compounding procedures, including cleaning, garbing, testing, and training.

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Must hold a valid Georgia pharmacy license.
• Strong preference for candidates with IV/Infusion pharmacy experience.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Excellent communication and supervisory skills.
• Thorough knowledge of sterile compounding regulations and standards.
