Job Specific Working Conditions: The Northeast Texas Region is seeking a visionary leader to launch the Young Life One ministry in the Greater Dallas area. Young Life One is a relational mentoring program that partners with local agencies to love foster, incarcerated, homeless, and trafficked youth. It provides physical needs, introduces them to Jesus Christ, promotes faith growth, offers a sense of family, and leads them toward self‑sustaining adulthood. This position will operate in partnership with a local children’s and family center. The right candidate will be entrepreneurial, collaborative, and able to engage diverse audiences and partners. They will possess knowledge of at‑risk youth, trauma‑informed care, relational ministry, and a passion for sharing the Gospel. YL Staff Associate II Summary: Through formal training and field ministry experience, you will learn to carry out and manage Young Life ministry while handling area responsibilities. Ministry Functions: Develop a yearly personal growth plan that fosters a vibrant spiritual life, including time for solitude, retreat, reflection, prayer, and study of God’s Word. Seek and maintain relationships and disciplines within an active church community. Actively participate in the spiritual life of the Young Life community. Lead teams and individuals in spiritual development. Leadership Development: Equipping leaders, committee, and staff, including volunteer care, recruiting, team building, training, supervision, and vision casting. Meet regularly with volunteer leaders and area leadership. Recruit and train new leaders to build a team that reflects the community. Model excellence in contact work, club, campaigners, and camping. Assist leaders in working effectively in teams and developing a yearly ministry strategy. Resource Development: Fueling the ministry through events, donor care, public relations, and the TDS team. Raise financial support and maintain good donor care practices. Communicate ministry updates and progress to donor partners. Network and develop strategic relationships with key adults in the community. Plan and execute area fundraising events under supervisor direction. Attend committee and adult functions as needed. Direct Ministry: Proclaiming and modeling through contact work, club, campaigners, and camp. Engage in all three levels of contact work. Lead teams to plan and conduct new or existing club and campaigner/discipleship ministry with excellence. Lead teams to implement summer and school‑season camping strategy. Serve on a summer assignment at a Young Life camp each year. Ministry Support: Taking care of business: accounting, administration, communication, data management, and strategic planning. Adhere to all Young Life policies and maintain professionalism. Manage finances with stewardship, accountability, and transparency. Maintain accurate records of kids, leaders, and donors. Provide clear, prompt, professional communication. Set yearly strategic ministry plans and review them regularly. Perform other duties as assigned and congruent with gifts, experience, and area needs. Training: Core Training – Phase One (New Staff Training, Leadership I, Leadership II, Apologetics, and one Winter Training course) within the first two years. Supervised by a regional director, trainer, or area to develop personal spiritual maturity. May include regional training meetings and ministry skills training assigned by the area director. Education: College degree preferred. Qualifications Required for the Job: Experience in direct ministry. Proven relational skills with kids and adults. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Work Conditions: May include extremes of camp: heat, cold, dirt, long hours, and physical demands such as hiking, horseback riding, boating, and more.
