Radiologic Technologist Full Time

Full Time RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGIST Assisting in the delivery of healthcare to our patients under the direction of a Provider and Clinical Director. Radiologic Techs are multifunctional and perform a wide variety of duties, primarily conducting x‑ray procedures. They may also assist with front‑desk check‑in, triage, injections, phlebotomy, and overall patient care. Position requirements: Must be able to work at least 5 shifts a month; 12‑hr shifts weekdays and 8‑hr shifts weekends, with rotating weekends, and be willing to work at other urgent care locations when needed. Job Duties Prepare patient for x‑ray, explain procedures, and prepare room, equipment, and materials as needed. Position patient and obtain quality diagnostic images. Develop, mark, and file x‑ray images and reports; burn images to disc when needed. Practice ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) to limit exposure to patient and medical team. Adjust equipment controls and determine proper kVp and mAs. Observe patient and machine during procedures, report unusual occurrences, and document patient condition. Prepare charts for patient appointments as indicated by visit type and reason according to established practices. Document patient charts with procedures performed, entering information into the electronic medical record. Clean and disinfect x‑ray room and equipment, maintain and order DME supplies. Perform routine x‑ray exams. Perform x‑ray quality assurance tests and maintain quality assurance records. Job Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent. Completion of an accredited radiology technology program. American Registry of Radiologic Technologist preferred, but not required. Knowledge of specific and OSHA requirements regarding radiological procedures. Six months x‑ray experience and familiarity with routine medical procedures. Ability to accurately read and write medical terminology. Ability to escort or transport patient by wheelchair or stretcher when appropriate. Great computer skills including familiarity with electronic medical records; type 60 words per minute with 96% accuracy. Detail oriented with excellent interpersonal communication skills. License and Certifications Current certification and/or state licensure in radiology technology in Louisiana required. Current BLS certification required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
