About the Position

Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Primarily Day Hours per Shift: 8 or 10 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Must be able to circulate General, GYN, Urology, and Peripheral Vascular cases including bowel resections, laparoscopic cases, and daVinci Xi cases. Must be able to circulate Orthopedic cases, total joints with or without MAKO robot, arthroscopy, and orthopedic trauma. Must be able to circulate Neuro, ENT, Oral, and Plastics cases. Description: The position requires circulating experience in the operating room. The average number of cases per day is 28. The unit manages 16 surgical suites. RNs are required to scrub in for certain cases. There is always a charge RN in the operating room. The department is staffed 24/7 with a minimum of one RN and one surgical tech. The Electronic Medical Records system used is Cerner. Primarily, shifts are from 0700 to 1530, 1730, or 1930. RNs may work one week of PM shifts approximately every five weeks. Night shift opportunities are available for experienced candidates. Call requirements include 1-2 nights per week from end of shift to 0700. Weekend requirements include approximately one weekend every five to six weekends. At least one holiday per year is required. Floating to an outpatient surgery center across campus may be required. Scrub color is navy blue, provided via vending service. Orientation includes 2-3 days with an educator to cover essential topics. All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility.
