Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour (Temp to hire)
To perform this role successfully, an individual must be able to execute each duty satisfactorily. Other related tasks may be assigned.
- Perform equipment repairs in compliance with Waste Management Safety & Life Critical Rules and OSHA requirements .
- Conduct preventive maintenance inspections (PM), diagnose issues, and repair/rebuild major equipment, including:
- Balers, conveyors, hydraulic power packs, eddy currents, electro-magnetic belts, optical sorters, diverters, compressors, trash compactors, motors, glass breakers, wire tie systems, fans, pumps, forklifts, loaders, and facility equipment.
- Maintain Daily Equipment Inspection (DEI) backlog.
- Adjust work procedures to meet production schedules; notify Plant Maintenance Manager if work cannot be completed within Standard Repair Times (SRTs).
- Inspect quality of third-party repairs/rebuilds.
- Recommend improvements to enhance production, equipment performance, and product quality.
- Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
- Manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
- Work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, to support facility needs.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant maintenance experience .
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Ability to meet physical demands of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation).
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen, physical, background check, employment verification, criminal history, and MVR review .
- Working knowledge of single- and three-phase electrical systems .
- Knowledge of electrical control systems , hydraulic systems , and pneumatic systems (including compressors).
- Ability to safely operate tools/equipment used in repair and servicing.
- Skilled in diagnosing and repairing a wide range of equipment and vehicles.
- Requires motor coordination with arm, hand, finger, and leg dexterity.
- Regular physical effort required, including lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and twisting (up to _ lbs; site-specific).
- Frequent exposure to dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes, and similar elements throughout the workday.
