As a valued member of the Resources Business Group (RBG) Communications team, you will help develop and execute best-in-class internal and external communications programs that strengthen our brand, reinforce our values, and elevate our reputation across the power, industrial and waste markets. Leveraging strong communications project coordination/management skills and a passion for storytelling, you'll create high-impact, data-informed content that engages audiences and supports business objectives. You will also serve as a key player in the planning and execution of RBG's biennial internal conference, coordinating logistics, managing stakeholder relationships, and delivering a memorable employee experience. Using a variety of channels, including HDR's website, social media platforms, email communications, and intranet, you will bring compelling stories to life and highlight the impact of our work through projects and thought leadership.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive and driven to deliver exceptional results. In the role of Communications Specialist, we'll count on you to:

• Drive the planning and execution of RBG's biennial internal conference
• Manage communications database information and web-based project management tools (e.g., Adobe, SharePoint, staging sites, contact logs, etc.)
• Work with engineers, architects, designers and other subject matter experts to develop and write engaging content that reflects HDR's brand across the power, industrial and waste markets, in order to elevate thought leadership, people and project work (e.g., bios, project stories, articles, news releases, social media posts)
• Develop engaging internal communications content (e.g., announcements, presentations, videos, live meetings and webinars)
• Organize and evaluate analytics from multiple sources (e.g., Google Analytics, social media platforms) to inform content strategy
• Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of industry expertise
• Comfortable working across multiple time zones as part of a virtual team
• Self-motivated and managed, but values feedback and collaboration

Required Qualifications:

• A minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience
• Experience in a communications field of expertise: social media, event planning, community engagement, target marketing, descriptive writing, public involvement, etc.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated and ability to work independent with multiple teams as well as team oriented
• Great interpersonal and communication skills - positive outlook and attitude
• High aptitude for managing and solving tactical issues
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
• Comfortable and competent while working with senior leaders and managing cross-functional efforts
• Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
• Committed to quality, continuous improvement, and HDR values
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite - InDesign
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
