Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive evaluations and diagnoses for patients suffering from chronic pain, utilizing clinical findings and diagnostic testing results to formulate effective treatment plans.
• Identify appropriate candidates for interventional pain management procedures such as nerve blocks or injections, ensuring informed consent and thorough patient education.
• Manage chronic medication regimens by prescribing medications aligned with therapeutic goals and monitoring patient responses to treatment.
• Conduct complete physical examinations and follow up with lab work, radiographic results, and other diagnostic studies to assess and monitor patients’ health status.
• Consult with fellow healthcare team members, collaborating on case management in complex or multi-faceted patient scenarios.
• Drive patient engagement by explaining treatment procedures and expected outcomes, fostering trust and understanding with patients and their families.
• Document patient interactions and progress in the electronic health records (EHR) system, ensuring accurate and efficient communication within the healthcare team.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily serve adults facing chronic pain disorders, which may include conditions such as arthritis, fibromyalgia, neuropathic pain, and post-surgical pain. Many patients will have multifactorial sources of pain requiring a comprehensive approach to alleviate their suffering and improve functional capacity. Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies is required.
• Current, active licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant in the state of New York.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $150,000 to $180,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
