Material Handler Full Time M-F 6am-2pm Opus Packaging - Jackson, MI Description Opus Packaging - Jackson, MI is currently searching for a Material Handler. As a Material Handler, you can expect to operate a powered industrial truck in a safe manner in coherence with promoting the corporate vision, mission statement, and core values. What you need to be successful at Opus Packaging
- Must be 18 years or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedural documents.
- Pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
- Work safely.
- Previous experience in warehouse or packaging environment.
- Previous Forklift or Powered Industrial Truck Experience
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to properly use and understand the required measurement equipment including tape measures, micrometers, and other tools as required for specific jobs.
- Operate Powered Industrial Truck equipped with lifting devices to lift, tier and load product into trailers or bins.
- Ensure the smooth flow of materials to various departments on the production floor.
- Operate a Powered Industrial Truck in a safe manner, following all rules and regulations that are set forth.
- Ensure loads are stacked properly for safe transportation.
- Be accountable for accuracy of shipping documents and verify that trailers are properly loaded while communicating with a supervisor about any discrepancies relating to orders.
- All other duties as assigned.
