Description
- Conduct assessments of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations, utilizing both standardized tests and keen observational skills.
- Craft individualized treatment strategies that cater to both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
- Deliver personalized speech therapy interventions focusing on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
- Collaborate seamlessly with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to forge cohesive care approaches.
- Provide education for patients and their families, ensuring support and progress outside of clinical appointments.
- Manage occasional inpatient evaluations and therapy interventions, promoting consistency throughout patients' treatment journeys.
- Adhere to precise and prompt documentation practices that meet state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and knowledge sharing to remain at the forefront of the field.
Education
- Holding a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet achieved ASHA certification.
Certifications
- Possession of valid state licensure as a Speech Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification needs to be secured within 30 days of employment.
