A day in the life

Join MacLean-Fogg in Plymouth, Michigan and keep our production lines running at peak performance. As the go-to mechanic on the floor, you will diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, and return equipment to service quickly and safely—while mentoring teammates and modeling best practices.

Role snapshot

• Location: Plymouth, MI
• Work Arrangement: On-site
• Schedule: 2nd Shift, Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM
• Pay: $25–$35 per hour
• Employment Type: Full-time / Hourly

What you will tackle

• Restore and maintain production machinery using hand/power tools, precision gauges, and test instruments.
• Complete preventive and routine services as well as complex corrective repairs.
• Pinpoint root causes of mechanical failures and return assets to reliable operation.
• Work from blueprints, diagrams, sketches, manuals, and OEM specifications.
• Take on difficult mechanical challenges and escalate for specialized support when needed.
• Coach and guide peers, sharing know-how to build team capability.
• Champion safety, environmental, and quality standards—especially strict Lockout/Tagout procedures.

Qualifications Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with exposure to electrical, hydraulic, and fluid systems.
• Proven ability to monitor equipment, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair.
• Comfort with hand tools, calibration, numerical control, and Lockout/Tagout.
• Self-directed; able to complete assignments with limited supervision.
• Reads and interprets work instructions accurately; collaborates well with others.

Preferred

• Powered Industrial Equipment Certification.

Working conditions & physical demands

You will operate around industrial equipment in a high-noise environment and should be prepared for:

• Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Extended standing.
• Pushing and pulling up to 50 lbs.
• Regular bending and stooping.
• Fine manual dexterity for small parts handling.
• Occasional work in confined spaces.
• Tasks performed from elevated platforms.
