JV Volleyball Head Coach

The Schoolcraft JR/SR High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to lead our Junior Varsity Volleyball program for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will possess strong coaching skills, a deep understanding of the game, and the ability to inspire and motivate student-athletes. This seasonal position requires a commitment to fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth among players while ensuring a positive and competitive environment. Responsibilities Develop and implement practice plans that enhance individual and team skills, focusing on technique, strategy, and game play. Organize and conduct tryouts, selecting team members based on skill, attitude, and potential for growth. Provide ongoing instruction and feedback to players during practices and games to promote improvement. Cultivate a positive team culture that emphasizes respect, commitment, and sportsmanship. Collaborate with the athletic director and other coaching staff to align program goals and objectives. Schedule and coordinate games, practices, and team events, ensuring effective communication with players and parents. Monitor the academic progress of student-athletes and promote a balance between athletics and academics. Maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all participants, adhering to school policies and regulations. Analyze game performance and implement adjustments to improve team strategy and execution. Serve as a role model for student-athletes, demonstrating ethical behavior and integrity in all interactions. Requirements Previous coaching experience in volleyball, preferably at the high school level or equivalent. Strong knowledge of volleyball techniques, strategies, and rules. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with student-athletes, parents, and staff. Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes to reach their full potential. First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain prior to the start of the season. Availability to attend all practices, games, and team events throughout the season.
