This position is an Operating Room RN Training program. We are looking for experienced or new graduate RNs with their RN license to join our October Peri-Op Training Program. This is a 10-week day-shift program, that upon successful completion, RNs can expect to work a flexible 3 12-hour shifts per week. Position Summary:Delivers professional and technical nursing care to pediatric (>2 years), adolescent, adult and geriatric patients undergoing surgical procedures in collaboration with care directed by the medical staff. Nursing care delivered complies with the objectives and policies of the hospital. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation when delivering surgical nursing care. Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with unit standards. Performs nursing techniques for the comfort and well-being of the patient. Prepares equipment and assists physician during surgical procedures. Takes emergency call as assigned by the department head. Works assigned shifts but may be asked to work beyond the regular tour of duty as assigned by the department head or nursing supervisor. Position Qualification:Graduate from an approved nursing educational program as defined by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN)Current Basic Life Support (BLS) cardOne-year Perioperative experience preferredExcellent physical assessment and critical thinking skillsPositive affect, demonstrated leadership and time management skillsEffective oral and written communication skills in the English languageVisual and hearing senses must be adequate to assess/detect changes in human physiological conditionsAbility to perform effectively in a fast paced and stressful environment Required Licenses/Certifications:Current Florida RN LicenseCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) card Must clear background and drug test required.
