Operations AssociateMBM Hospitality is a busy catering company located in Torrance, CA offering full-service catering for special events, weddings, corporate events all over Los Angeles and Orange County. We are looking for an experienced and ambitious Operations Associate ready to grow with our company at our Headquarters. The ideal candidate is passionate about event planning, details, food, and hospitality!As the Operations Associate at the MBM Hospitality Headquarters Office, you will work alongside the Operations, Kitchen, & Sales Team ensuring the smooth and successful production & delivery of each event. Your main tasks will include placing orders, event production coordination, administration, event food load outs, food/bar inventory management and supporting Kitchen/Operations Team as needed such as shopping, delivery, pick ups, assisting with tastings when needed, and performs other duties assigned by leadership team.Operations Associate Job Responsibilities:Works closely with Operations, Kitchen, & Sales team to plan, coordinate, and successfully execute the entire production of each scheduled catering eventCatering Pack Out & Load Out for each event including quality & quantity check of food, equipment, & front of house items in its proper allocated van according to the event worksheet & departure scheduleAssisting Event Staff & Drivers during load out & unloadingWork alongside Head Chef & Prep Cooks ensuring prep sheets are accurate and all ingredients and food items are accounted for accuracyPlacing orders such as desserts, bread, specialty food items, additional vehicles needed such as U-Hauls, trash pick ups if needed at events, or special rental request according to the event worksheetUpdating worksheet with information pertaining to specialty orders, van/driver details, and special rental requestsThoroughly review details event worksheet menu including ingredients, dietary restrictions, protein cuts/temperatures, total kitchen counts to ensure accuracy and guest satisfactionComply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines, including company policies (refer to Employee Handbook).Supporting Kitchen/Operations/Sales Team as needed such as shopping, delivery, fleet management, inventory management of food/beverage, and assist with Tastings as neededBeverage Department Assistance: Preparing garnishes and other beverage items, loading & unpacking beverage items and bins, shopping for beverage needs, assisting the Bar Director in maintaining beverage shelves cleanliness & organizationSpecial Operations Projects: Performs other duties as assignment by leadership team.Operations Associate Qualifications / Skills:Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen/warehouseMust have current Food Handler CertificateExcellent organizational skills with a keen eye to attention to detailA team player with good communication skills and willingness to support all departmentsAble to work in a fast place environment, patient with an ability to stay positive under pressureVery good physical condition and endurance with the ability to be on your feet for long hours and lift of up to 50lbs-100lbsPunctual, comes to work on time and possess a good attitudeGreat problem-solving skills with the ability to work independentlyMust have open availability Monday - Sunday and ready to work based on scheduled events (not to exceed 40 hours/week)Must have reliable transportation and good driving recordEducation and Experience:• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in office administration or related field preferred.• Restaurant or Kitchen Experience• At least two years of administrative and clerical experience required.Benefits:Health insuranceDental insuranceVision insuranceLife insurance401(k) matchingFamily Meal Tue-ThurPay: $25 an Hour, Non ExemptJob Type: FulltimeSchedule: 8 hour shift, 40 Hours a Week, 5 Days a weekWork location: On-site
