Job Description:

The Radiology Technologist (Xray) role involves preparing and positioning patients for diagnostic imaging procedures and determining exposure factors based on various patient-specific factors. The technologist will operate mobile radiologic equipment and is responsible for routine maintenance and minor repair tasks. Radiation protection techniques are practiced to ensure patient and staff safety.

Responsibilities:

• Prepares and positions patient for diagnostic imaging procedures.
• Moves imaging equipment into specified position and determines exposure factors.
• Adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum views.
• Operates mobile radiologic equipment where applicable.
• Performs routine maintenance and minor repairs on radiologic equipment.
• Practices radiation protection techniques.
• Processes images and reviews for identification and quality control.
• Completes forms and maintains records and logs of work performed.
• Provides a positive image to customers and explains procedures to patients.
• Assists in training students and/or new staff.
• Seeks opportunities to improve knowledge through educational activities.

Requirements:

• Certifications: AHA BLS, ARRT, KSBHA LRT
• All required licensure and certifications must be valid at time of submission.
• No pending certifications or licenses allowed.
• No license infractions.
