ETL DeveloperLocation: Near Albany, NY (onsite)Employment Type: Full-TimeSalary: $85,000 - $115,000Our client is seeking a skilled ETL Developer to design, build, and maintain data integration solutions that support business intelligence and operational reporting. This role is responsible for developing and optimizing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, ensuring data integrity, and collaborating with technical and business teams to deliver high-quality, reliable data pipelines. The ideal candidate has a strong background in SQL, data modeling, and performance tuning, along with hands-on experience using modern ETL tools and techniques.Key ResponsibilitiesETL Development & IntegrationDesign, develop, and maintain ETL pipelines to extract data from multiple structured and unstructured sources.Implement both incremental and full data load processes while maintaining high standards for data quality and consistency.Build reusable ETL components to improve efficiency and standardization across data workflows.Data Modeling & Performance OptimizationSupport the development and optimization of data warehouse and operational data store models.Apply indexing, partitioning, and other performance techniques to ensure efficient data access.Monitor and fine-tune ETL performance through query optimization, parallel processing, and process automation.Data Quality & ValidationDevelop and implement data validation, error handling, and reconciliation procedures to ensure data accuracy and completeness.Collaborate with data governance and analytics teams to support data quality and compliance initiatives.Collaboration & DocumentationPartner with analysts, developers, and business stakeholders to gather data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.Maintain detailed documentation for ETL workflows, data mappings, and system dependencies.Contribute to knowledge sharing and cross-functional collaboration within the data engineering team.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).Experience: 2-5 years of experience developing and maintaining ETL processes in a data-centric environment.Technical Skills:SQL / T-SQL: Advanced proficiency in writing, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex queries.ETL Tools: Experience with one or more tools such as SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Informatica, Pentaho, or similar platforms.Databases: Strong understanding of relational and dimensional database concepts, query optimization, and schema design.Data Warehousing: Familiarity with star schema and dimensional modeling concepts.Data Quality: Knowledge of data cleansing, validation, and profiling techniques.Problem Solving: Ability to diagnose and resolve complex data issues with attention to detail and analytical rigor.
