FC Tulsa is a professional soccer club competing in the USL Championship, based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The club is committed to building a championship-caliber football operation, with an emphasis on player health, performance, and development across its first team and academy programs. This position is affiliated with the OSU Center for Health Sciences.

Position Summary

FC Tulsa is seeking a full-time Athletic Trainer to support the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for the club's roster. The Athletic Trainer will work closely with the sports medicine and sport science staff to keep players healthy and available, while also contributing to the administration and coordination of medical coverage for training, practices, and matches.

Responsibilities

• Prevent, evaluate, and treat athletic injuries and illnesses for team athletes
• Design and oversee rehabilitation programs for injured players
• Provide counseling and education to athletes on injury prevention and recovery
• Coordinate medical coverage for workouts, practices, and home/away matches, including scheduling of student and graduate assistant athletic trainers
• Supervise, mentor, and help recruit undergraduate- and master's-level athletic trainers
• Handle athletic training administrative duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Healthcare Administration, Health/Physical Education, Sports Medicine/Kinesiology, Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, or a related field (must be conferred by the agreed start date)
• Post-graduate athletic training experience
• Certification by the Board of Certification (BOC) for Athletic Trainers and/or the American Physical Therapy Association
• Licensure as a Certified Athletic Trainer in the State of Oklahoma required prior to hire
• Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work across diverse team and organizational contexts
• Ability to perform detailed, confidential work accurately under deadline pressure
• Working knowledge of OSHA guidelines and universal precautions
• Ability to manage multiple personnel and tasks simultaneously
• Experience designing strength programs for injured athletes
• Comfortable working extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and in varying weather conditions
• Willingness and ability to travel, including internationally
• Proficiency with basic word processing, spreadsheet, and database tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in a related field
• Dual credential as Athletic Trainer and Physical Therapist (AT/PT) preferred
• At least 4 years of athletic training experience, including experience working alongside an AT/PT
• NASM certification as a Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) or Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES)
• Experience with manual therapy techniques

Work Schedule: Schedule varies based on team practice and match calendars, and is subject to change based on facility availability and weather. Matches and events regularly occur on evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Compensation: Commensurate with education and experience.
