Office Assistant 3

This position is open to Alaska Residents only. The position is based on-site at the Division of Investments headquarters in Juneau. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our Customer Service Team as an Office Assistant 3. Key Responsibilities Serve as the welcoming and dependable point of contact for our Customer Service section, delivering outstanding service to borrowers both in person and over the phone. Answer and route incoming phone calls while providing courteous, accurate information to the public and internal and external staff. Act as backup to Office Assistant 1, handling daily runs using a division vehicle and transporting documents between state agencies and other businesses. Ensure documents are properly labeled, organized, and stored in accordance with Division retention policies. Competencies Attention to Detail Writing Oral Communication Conscientiousness Customer Service Education and Experience High school diploma or the equivalent is required. Minimum one year of experience in clerical tasks such as reception duties, answering routine questions, retrieving information from electronic or hard copy files, recording expenditures and receipts, or typing routine correspondence is required. Education from an accredited college may substitute for six months of the required experience. 150 hours of vocational education equal one month of experience. Special Note "High school diploma equivalent" includes one of the following: 1) a G.E.D.; 2) completion of any basic adult education course equivalent to 480 class hours (16 weeks at 30 course hours per week); 3) acceptance in full standing by an accredited college or university; or 4) highest grade of school completed plus an amount of paid or volunteer experience that totals 12 years and includes basic clerical tasks such as greeting clients, answering phones, typing, filing, sorting mail, entering data, receiving payments, making change, or maintaining logs. Vehicle Operation Some positions may require the incumbent to operate a motor vehicle. A valid Alaska driver’s license is required. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
