Cook Position at Grand View Lodge

Grand View Lodge is looking for a skilled, reliable Cook to join the kitchen team. You'll prepare quality food consistent with our recipes and standards, keep your station clean and organized, and contribute to a kitchen culture built on teamwork, craft, and pride in the plate.

Cook levels (I, II, and III) are based on skill and experience, with Cook I representing the most advanced level. There's a clear path to grow here. As a resort property with 11 dining outlets, you may occasionally be called on to support other kitchens based on business needs, giving you exposure to a range of culinary concepts and service styles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare menu items according to established recipes, quality standards, and plating expectations; consistency and care on every plate.
• Ensure all food is presented well, tastes great, and is served at the correct temperature for every guest, every time.
• Keep your station clean, organized, and properly stocked throughout service — arriving prepared and ready to go from the first ticket.
• Close and sanitize your work area at the end of every shift, meeting or exceeding food safety and sanitation inspection standards.
• Maintain personal hygiene and a professional kitchen appearance at all times.
• Report equipment issues, low inventory, or supply needs to your supervisor promptly.
• Work collaboratively with your kitchen team — supporting each other through the rush and holding each other to a high standard.
• Provide coverage in other resort outlets (casual dining, banquets, elevated dining) as business levels and scheduling require; flexibility across concepts is part of working in a multi-outlet resort kitchen.
• This is a resort hospitality role; availability on weekends, holidays, and extended hours during peak seasons is required.

What You Bring:

• Prior kitchen experience in a restaurant, resort, or food service environment; the right attitude and work ethic matter as much as the experience level.
• Comfort with the pace and rhythm of a busy kitchen; you stay focused, organized, and positive when it gets loud and fast.
• Strong time management and the ability to meet deadlines during service without cutting corners on quality.
• Ability to meet skill expectations based on your Cook level (I, II, or III) and a genuine desire to grow toward the next level.
• Physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods, reach, bend, and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
• Basic reading and writing ability; you can follow recipes, understand safety labels, and complete brief reports as needed.
• High school diploma or GED preferred; one year of equivalent kitchen experience accepted in lieu.
• A valid driver's license may be required for certain assignments involving company vehicles.
