Assistant General Counsel - Marketing - Vice President

The Marketing Legal Practice Group provides legal support to the Chase Consumer and Community Banking Marketing Legal Team, providing counsel across marketing channels including digital, social media, and print advertising, requiring strong analytical skills and sophisticated judgment. As an Assistant General Counsel / Vice President (VP) in the Marketing Legal team, you will focus on reviewing and providing guidance for marketing materials prepared by the Consumer and Community Banking areas. You will conduct critical analyses and provide alternative solutions when necessary. You must have excellent oral and written communication skills, superb people skills, the ability to understand new areas of law quickly and meet the needs of a demanding and sophisticated client group, and the flexibility to manage a wide range of assignments simultaneously. If these values resonate with you, we would like to hear from you.Job ResponsibilitiesDevelop subject matter expertise in assigned areas and provide strategic and practical legal adviceCollaborate with other functional partners to ensure appropriate awareness of issues as they arise and assist in resolving matters and driving forward initiativesAdvise and collaborate with colleagues across the Legal and Compliance DepartmentsHandle escalated matters, projects and initiatives from various operational areas, including areas that have firm-wide and cross line of business coverageMonitor and advise business partners and legal colleagues on relevant legislative and regulatory changesAssist the CCB businesses (with an emphasis in the Card Services, Consumer Bank, and Home Lending lines of business) on marketing of products, and advising on regulatory issues;Review marketing claims and substantiation;Participate in various control, compliance, and risk initiatives from a legal marketing and communications standpoint;Work with the business to implement changes responsive to new federal and state legal and regulatory requirements as interpreted by staff attorneysRequired qualifications, capabilities and skills JD admitted to practice in and member of the bar in good standing; must be in compliance with all relevant licensing requirements including the requirements of the jurisdiction where the role will be located prior to commencement of employment5+ years of legal experience in a large consumer banking organization, law firm, or equivalent, such as relevant experience in government, law enforcement or a regulatory agency, representing such organizations with a demonstrated record of increasing responsibilityKnowledge of applicable consumer finance/marketing laws is required, including the Card Act (Reg. Z), Truth in Lending (TILA), and Unfair, Deceptive or Abusive Acts or Practices (UDAAP) issues, with a working knowledge of Reg.
