Clinical Trials Pharmacist

Working in conjunction with the Clinical Trials Pharmacy team. Dispenses research medication to subjects enrolled in clinical trials. Ensures medication orders comply with approved protocols. Reviews protocol documents and drafts dispensing instructions. Oversees the safe handling and preparation of investigational sterile and non-sterile medications. Oversees technician activities and performs quality control checks. Provides drug information to other health care professionals. Triages and participates in sponsor monitoring visits and audits. Reviews new protocols and amendments for drug safety and feasibility. Promotes a culture of safety. Adheres to established practices and policies. Notifies the manager of deviations in standard practices. Acts as a liaison between the pharmacy and compounding. Reviews patient medications for appropriateness and drug interactions. Complies with state and federal laws pertinent to pharmacy and investigational drug use. The Clinical Trials Pharmacy offers pharmaceutical services and guidance to support research groups and investigators engaged in the conduct of human subject research.
