Due to the consistent growth and demand for our services, as well as our continued need to design architectural solutions for our clients' projects, our company needs the professional services of an Architectural Designer 2 to work with our architects and project managers to support and advance the design process of our urban, residential, commercial, and civic projects. The Architectural Designer will contribute strong technical judgment and proficiency, as well as design insight, while working under the guidance of the Senior Associate. The Architectural Designer 2 will develop creative, buildable, and client-focused design solutions across all phases of the project development cycle by translating conceptual ideas into well-coordinated drawings and presentations.

The hired individual will be responsible for the following duties:

• Under the supervision of the Senior Associate, develop technical solutions and product strategies, including draft architectural designs and build architectural models;
• Apply design theories and principles and use computer-assisted design software (such as CAD) to analyze and optimize design drawings, drafts, and plans;
• Operate computer-aided design (CAD) software to produce architectural designs, working drawings, charts, forms, and records;
• Assist principal designers with schematic design, concept development, planning, interior design, digital design, fabrication, construction documents, sustainability reports, and feasibility studies;
• Collaborate with structural, electrical, and mechanical engineering teams to review, align, and incorporate their design models into accurate and comprehensive architectural drawings.
• Develop and refine site, landscape, and architectural layouts by applying site design standards and utilizing computer-assisted drafting software to create accurate and visually clear architectural layouts.
• Review and interpret applicable building codes, zoning by-laws, site constraints, permit requirements, and technical reports to inform management and clients of design decisions and ensure compliance throughout the project.
• Participate in client meetings to discuss, note, and analyze project objectives, key design concepts, and functional goals; review short- and long-term goals and milestones for each project;

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in architecture or another closely related field;
• 3 years of work experience as an architectural designer preparing construction documents using computer-aided design tools;
• Proficiency in CAD software including Autodesk Revit and Autodesk AutoCAD.
