Schedule: Monday to Friday, Standard Business Hours

About the Role

• We are hiring a Senior Data Engineer to join our client's Data Engineering team on a contract basis.
• This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading enterprise organization focused on large-scale data transformation and engineering initiatives.
• The ideal candidate will be a hands-on engineer with strong coding expertise and experience working with large datasets, distributed systems, and performance optimization.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries for large-scale data processing
• Build and enhance data pipelines using Python and PySpark
• Create and manage Hive tables within Hadoop environments
• Perform query optimization and performance tuning for large datasets
• Analyze and transform structured and unstructured data efficiently
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data engineering initiatives
• Write clean, scalable, and production-quality code
• Participate in technical discussions, troubleshooting, and implementation activities

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of hands-on Data Engineering experience within the U.S.
• Strong expertise in Advanced SQL and query optimization
• Strong hands-on Python development experience
• Experience with Hadoop, Hive, and PySpark
• Experience creating tables, performance tuning, and handling large datasets
• Strong coding and problem-solving skills
• Ability to explain technical logic and implementation clearly
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Compensation
Hourly Rate: $60.00 - $65.00 per hour
This range reflects base compensation and may vary based on location, market conditions, experience, and candidate qualifications.
