This role supports the patient delivery system, minimizes disruption, renders service support as needed to run hospital operations, and strives to provide an exceptional positive experience to all people. The position is responsible for critical incident management, ensuring responsible care of patient valuables, weapons in our control, completing property inventory logs as required, maintaining patient valuables, and ensuring items are accounted for. It establishes an active security presence, providing surveillance, personal escort, courier service, vehicle assistance, and inspections. The role requires knowledge of acceptable norms within the environment, including specific knowledge to respond safely and quickly to all designated Community Health Network locations. Exceptional Skills and Qualifications High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Current Indiana Driver’s License required. One year of security experience in a healthcare or related setting preferred. Must obtain Hazmat Certification Level 1 and Indiana License to Carry a Handgun within one year from hire. Ability to utilize departmental policy and the Use of Force Continuum guidelines, e.g., AIDET, AVADE de‑escalation skills, Defensive Tactics, Pepper Spray, TASER, citizen arrest. Assists Law Enforcement. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to perform basic computer functions. Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment effectively. Leadership skills.
