Senior Industrial Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift, Benefits Day 1 & PTO

Position Overview We are hiring a Senior Plant Maintenance Technician to support our plant operations at WM. The role involves performing preventive and corrective maintenance on a wide variety of equipment, troubleshooting failures, and maintaining safety standards. Key Responsibilities Conduct preventive maintenance inspections (PM) and diagnose, repair, and rebuild major equipment and components, including balers, conveyors, hydraulic power packs, eddy currents, electro‑magnetic belts, optical sorters, diverters, compressors, trash compactors, motors, glass breakers, wire tie systems, fans, pumps, forklifts, front‑end loaders, and building equipment. Maintain the Daily Equipment Inspections (DEI) backlog. Adjust work procedures to meet production schedules and inform the Sr. Plant Maintenance Manager of additional work needed or SRT constraints. Inspect the quality of third‑party repairs and rebuilds. Recommend production and equipment improvements. Respond to emergency breakdown service calls. Perform work with limited supervision while maintaining high standards. Remain flexible with schedule, including nights and weekends as required. Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with OSHA and corporate standards. Execute repairs in line with Waste Management Safety, Life‑Critical Rules, and OSHA requirements. Hours & Location Monday – Friday, 1:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. (afternoon shift). Work is performed at WM’s plant facility. Qualifications 4 years of relevant work experience. Must be over 18 years of age. Legally eligible to work in the United States. Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations. Successful completion of pre‑employment drug screen and physical. Physical Demands Use motor coordination with arms, hands, fingers, and legs. Engage in physical activity that includes pushing, pulling, bending, and lifting objects more than 50 pounds. Work from ladders or raised platforms; stand or work on concrete floors most of the day. Be exposed to a physical environment involving dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements. Work in material recycling facilities, repair/maintenance facilities, outdoors, or similar settings.
