Maintenance Technician – Temp-to-Hire

Department: Facilities
Reports To: V.P. of Operations
Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire | Non-Exempt
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Overtime: Additional hours and overtime as needed
Pay Rate: $28.00–$30.00 per hour, DOE

Bilingual in Spanish is a plus, not required.

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Maintenance Technician to join our Facilities team. This is an excellent temp-to-hire opportunity for a skilled maintenance professional seeking a stable position with competitive pay and the chance to grow with the company.

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining production equipment, facilities, buildings, and grounds while helping ensure a safe, clean, and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative, corrective, and general maintenance on production equipment and facility systems.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and identify effective repair solutions.
• Keep equipment in proper operating condition in accordance with manufacturer-recommended procedures.
• Maintain buildings, grounds, and work areas in a clean, safe, functional, and presentable condition.
• Develop, implement, and maintain a computer-based maintenance program.
• Coordinate with outside vendors regarding maintenance contracts, scheduled services, repairs, and troubleshooting.
• Develop contingency plans to minimize downtime when equipment or systems are unavailable.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable OSHA requirements.
• Assist with HAZ-MAT management and compliance activities.
• Manage water release, testing, and required reporting.
• Operate company vehicles and trucks for business-related activities as needed.

Working Environment

This position requires the ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions.

The Maintenance Technician may be required to:

• Operate a variety of hand and power tools while following applicable safety procedures.
• Work at elevated heights using specialized equipment and proper rigging.
• Operate forklifts and other motorized equipment and vehicles in accordance with safety requirements.
• Safely perform physically demanding maintenance activities as required.

Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, a hands-on approach to maintenance, and the ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team.

Required/Preferred Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience working with manufacturing equipment , preferably within the metals industry.
• 3+ years of experience working with electrically powered equipment.
• 3+ years of facilities maintenance experience , including:
• Plumbing
• Electrical
• Structural maintenance
• Painting
• Grounds maintenance
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to repair equipment or recommend appropriate repair solutions.
• Ability to use specialized maintenance tools, equipment, and procedures.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook .
• Ability to quickly learn new equipment, processes, and procedures through hands-on training.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift and company vehicles.
