Registered Nurse Supervisor Opportunity:

Part Time, 12 Hour Shifts,
7am - 7pm

Located in Lexington, Kentucky, The Ridge offers a healing environment to reassure patients' sense of security and confidentiality. Dedicated to excellence, The Ridge is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, as a licensed, 110-bed hospital, providing psychiatric (mental health) and substance use disorder (drug and alcohol rehabilitation) services to children, adolescents and adults. Inpatient care is provided on a 24-hour basis, seven days a week. Outpatient and partial hospitalization services are provided on a five-day per week basis, days and evenings. Care is provided according to an established code of ethical conduct and strict adherence to patient rights.

Position Summary:

A clinical and administrative position that provides leadership to the nursing staff and support to the Nurse Care Managers. Clinical work will focus on primary care and patient panel management. Administrative and managerial responsibilities include activities that will support smooth nursing operations and nursing roles in quality improvement and process improvement. Provides the full range of supervisory duties to include personnel and resource management. Works independently as the representative of the Chief Nursing Officer with responsibility for the quality of nursing practice and nursing care provided.

Job Duties include :

• Accurately and timely completes the following duties: new patient admissions, assessment, orders, treatment plan, property inventory, nutritional screening, progress note, patient education, safe and efficient medication administration.

• Provides appropriate crisis intervention as necessary by anticipating and responding quickly to escalating behaviors, utilizing de-escalation techniques to diffuse the situation, correctly prioritizing safety concerns.

• Uses appropriate counseling skills by de-escalating aggression, using active listening skills, using appropriate tone and volume of voice, providing a high frequency and variety of positive reinforcements, maintaining appropriate boundaries , and promoting a positive peer culture.
