Job Summary Department: 02050 WFBMG University Group Practice: Asheboro Heart and Vascular Center – Cardiology (Full time) Hours: 40 per week; Monday‑Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm Location: Asheboro, North Carolina Pay range: $35.50 – $53.25 per hour Sign‑on bonus: $15,000 (eligible) Relocation assistance: Up to $5,000 (qualified candidates) Benefits Health coverage (beginning day one) Paid time off (up to 25 days per year, for vacation, sickness, holidays, personal matters) Parental benefits: 6weeks maternity leave for birthing mothers; 4weeks parental leave for non‑birthing parents Retirement contributions: Up to 7% employer‑paid Education reimbursement: Up to $2,500 per year for a bachelor’s program; up to $5,000 per year for a graduate program What You Will Do Perform routine and emergency echocardiograms—including 2‑D, 3‑D, Doppler, trans‑esophageal, and stress echo—according to physician orders and established protocols Record quality information and explain procedures and potential side effects to patients or families Provide echocardiography services at all necessary locations (in‑patient, portable, outpatient) and during variable shifts, weekends, and on‑call duties as scheduled Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and perform minor repairs on equipment and ancillary devices; conduct routine cleaning and preventive maintenance Analyze patient medical records to obtain symptomatic history and other required data; prepare preliminary reports for cardiologist review Participate in quality improvement activities, assess technical quality and accuracy, and maintain logs, files, and records Maintain patient confidentiality and communicate technical and care information per established processes and timelines Attend echo lab meetings, participate in conferences, and pursue continuing education and professional growth Work weekends, holidays, and on‑call as needed; foster a collaborative and cooperative work environment within the department Level 4 Cardiac Sonographer Expectations Participate in dedicated research protocols as needed Perform portable and laboratory echocardiograms in an inpatient setting on weekends, holidays, and on‑call shifts Act as a resource in the absence of the leadership team to provide coverage Actively participate in internal and external educational opportunities and serve as a role model for other sonographers Troubleshoot Cardiac Ultrasound equipment issues and follow through until corrected Troubleshoot issues with EMR and Cardiac PAC systems Qualifications & Requirements Graduate of an AMA‑approved School of Radiologic Technology, an AMA‑approved ultrasound course, or a CMA‑accredited Diagnostic Ultrasound program (treated as a 2‑year program); associate’s degree preferred One year of patient experience preferred Valid sonography credential registration (RDMS, RDCS via ARDMS) or RCS via CCI preferred; must register in the appropriate cardiology specialties within two years of hire Current BLS certification Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Communicate effectively and professionally with physicians, staff, and other medical center personnel regarding patient care Communicate with patients of varying age groups Teach, provide instruction, and assess the quality of other sonographers’ work Maintain strong organizational skills and a positive working relationship with staff and leadership Work effectively in a stressful environment and maintain self‑control Use sound judgment in decision‑making and multitask while prioritizing responsibilities Compensation & Incentives Base compensation within the indicated pay range based on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and/or training Premium pay for shift, on‑call, and other schedule variations Incentive pay for select positions Opportunity for annual increases based on performance Additional Notes Eligibility for programs listed above may depend on FTE or status (e.g., full‑time, part‑time, per diem, temporary).
