Venture Capital Job - Senior Associate / Vice President - QuadPoint Partners (New York)
QuadPoint Partners
JOB DESCRIPTION
Senior Associate / Vice President Investment Team
New York, NY · Full-Time, In-Office · Partner Track
I. The Firm
QuadPoint Partners is a special situations private equity firm focused on GP‑led secondary transactions in the middle market. We invest in high‑quality businesses through Special Situation Continuation Vehicles (SSCVs) and related structures. We are actively investing out of QuadPoint Partners Fund I, which has already delivered strong early performance, and we are building the team to scale into the next phase of the firm. Our team brings deep private equity and secondaries pedigree and applies a fundamental, bottoms‑up underwriting approach more typical of direct PE than traditional secondaries. The investment approach is fundamental and bottoms‑up, similar to a direct private equity underwriting model versus a traditional secondaries practice and draws on the team’s background across leading private equity, secondaries, and restructuring platforms.
II. The Role
We are hiring a Senior Associate / Vice President to join our investment team. This is a partner‑track role with broad exposure and meaningful responsibility from day one. You will work directly with the Managing Partner on every aspect of the investment process, including:
- Sourcing and evaluating GP‑led secondary, preferred equity, structured credit, and co‑investment opportunities
- Leading fundamental due diligence on underlying portfolio companies, including market analysis, competitive positioning, financial performance, and management assessment
- Building detailed financial models, including LBO, fund‑level waterfall, and structured transaction models
- Developing independent investment views and presenting recommendations to the Investment Committee
- Negotiating and structuring transactions, including financial and governance terms
- Supporting portfolio monitoring, valuation, and reporting
- Contributing to firm‑building activities, including fundraising, investor communications, and operational scaling
III. The Candidate
The right candidate is, above all, a serious investor. We are looking for someone who has spent meaningful time evaluating businesses on their fundamentals, who forms independent views and defends them, and who is energized by complex situations where the answer is not obvious. Investing style matters: a genuine interest in value, special situations, or other fundamentally‑driven approaches will resonate with how we think and how we underwrite. Specifically, we expect the following:
R E Q U I R E D
- 2‑5 years of direct investing experience (private equity, credit, hedge fund, or other principal investing). Investment banking experience alone will not be considered, though IB followed by buyside experience is welcomed.
- Demonstrated track record of underwriting and evaluating a high volume of investments, with the ability to form deep fundamental views and defend independent investment theses
- Strong financial modeling skills, including comfort with LBO models, fund‑level structures, waterfalls, and complex capital structures
- Intellectual curiosity, with a genuine interest in complex situations and the ability to work through ambiguity
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce IC‑ready investment memos
- High ownership mentality and willingness to operate with entrepreneurial energy in an early‑stage firm environment
- Unimpeachable integrity and judgment
P R E F E R R E D
- Genuine passion for investing, special situations, or other fundamentally‑driven investment philosophies
- Prior experience running deal processes end‑to‑end (teachable for the right candidate)
- Familiarity with private equity fund structures, secondaries, or continuation vehicles (teachable for the right candidate)
IV. The Opportunity
Inflection point. QuadPoint is at an inflection point after producing a strong Fund I track record. Joining ahead of Fund II on a lean team offers accelerated responsibility and the opportunity to help shape the firm as it scales, with the intent of growing into a key partnership role.
Apprenticeship. Direct mentorship from Managing Partners who bring deep private equity and secondaries experience from leading institutional platforms. The team operates with a high‑performance, high‑trust culture in which good investment thinking and strong work ethic is rewarded.
Differentiated strategy. Focus on transactions that most of the market is not structured to underwrite and drives asymmetric returns.
