Instructional Assistant – Norristown, PA
Location: Norristown, PA
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Overview
Horizon Staffing Resources is seeking a dedicated Instructional Assistant to support children in Montgomery County . This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about early childhood education and enjoy working in a collaborative, supportive classroom environment. The Instructional Assistant will play an important role in helping young learners develop academically, socially, and emotionally while supporting the classroom teacher in daily activities.
Responsibilities
- Assist the classroom teacher with implementing daily lesson plans and age-appropriate activities
- Support children during instructional time, play, and group learning activities
- Help maintain a safe, positive, and engaging classroom environment
- Provide assistance with hygiene needs as necessary (most children are potty trained, though some may require support)
- Supervise children during transitions, meals, and outdoor play
- Assist with classroom organization and preparation of learning materials
- Communicate effectively with the teaching team and site leadership
Requirements
- Previous childcare or classroom experience preferred
- Ability to assist with basic hygiene and care needs
- Dependable, patient, and comfortable working in a fast-paced classroom setting
- Ability to pass all required background checks and clearances
