You will provide technical leadership across the full project lifecycle, including pursuit development, requirements definition, network cybersecurity assessments, architecture and detailed design, implementation oversight, testing, commissioning, and operational transition focused on network security.The role will lead the cybersecurity design and delivery of secure, resilient IP network environments, including segmentation, industrial DMZs, electronic security perimeters, network access controls, secure remote access, network management security, encryption, monitoring integration, and related network cybersecurity technologies. You will also help develop NCS standards, methodologies, quality processes, service offerings, and personnel for the Network & Cybersecurity Services team.You will also work closely with Black & Veatch’s Industrial Cybersecurity Services team when engagements include cybersecurity program strategy, governance, risk, compliance, policy, application or system security, incident-response planning, managed security services, or broader adversarial testing. The foundation of BV Operations provides the ability to move where your skills are needed and allows for a collaborative and innovative culture offering greater challenges and career development opportunities. The Instrumentation & Control department is a global team specializing in instrumentation, control systems, wireless communications, networks, and cybersecurity for all BV Market Sectors and Solutions.  Our team provides a full range of services including consulting, master planning, assessments, conceptual design, detailed design, EPC, design-build, construction support, field services, testing, commissioning, resident engineering, staff augmentation, training, on-call services, and system implementation, configuration, and programing.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct network infrastructure cybersecurity assessments including vulnerability assessments, risk evaluations, and architecture reviewsDevelop detailed technical reports that clearly document findings, risk impacts, and prioritized remediation actionsSupport adversarial testing and security validation efforts, including red team-style exercises where applicableCollaborate with other teams to evaluate and secure SCADA, DCS, and industrial network architecturesCreate and review system designs and provide cybersecurity input aligned with operational requirements such as availability and safetyLead the implementation of cybersecurity network infrastructure solutions, including configuration, integration, and deployment of security technologies (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, segmentation, and secure remote access) to support secure, resilient OT environments.Support development and enhancement of cybersecurity standards, methodologies, and testing proceduresContribute to business development activities, including proposal support, scope development, and client presentationsParticipate in internal and external project meetings and provide cybersecurity subject matter expertiseSupport cybersecurity assessments, including vulnerability scanning and, when applicable, penetration testing activities across network, system, application, and OT/ICS environments.Ensure alignment with project budgets, schedules, and quality requirements while delivering high quality technical workMentor junior staff and support knowledge sharing across teamsStay current on cybersecurity technologies, threats, and industry trends relevant to IT and OT environments Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline preferred or equivalent experienceFamiliarity with Industrial Control Systems technologies including SCADA, PLCs, and industrial networks Knowledge of industry standards and frameworks such as NERC CIP, NIST CSF, and IEC 62443 Experience developing cybersecurity standards, tools, or internal methodologies Relevant certifications such as OSCP, GPEN, GWAPT, CISSP, CISM, or GICSP Strong consulting and client-facing experience Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable recommendationsFamiliarity with penetration testing methodologies and vulnerability assessment tools, with the ability to contribute to testing activities across IT and OT/ICS environments Minimum QualificationsMinimum of 8+ years of relevant experience in network cybersecurity, penetration testing, or cyber assessmentsHands-on experience with network cybersecurity solutions such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, NAC, secure remote access, zero trust network architectures, SIEM, etc. Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including routing, switching, segmentation, and firewalls All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations Work Environment/Physical DemandsHybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignments.Salary PlanENS: Eng & Technical SpecialtiesJob Grade017Black & Veatch endeavors to make accessible to any and all users.
