We offer:Health, dental and vision insuranceGenerous paid time off (vacation, flex or sick)401(k) retirement planCompany paid life insuranceTuition reimbursementEmployee assistance programTraining and exciting career growth opportunitiesReferral program – refer a friend and earn a bonusBenefits may vary by position so ask your recruiter for details.Location: Corporate AccountingPurpose: The Staff Accountant II performs landlord lease and sublease accounting processes, completing rent calculations, reconciliations, and compliance reporting while providing a high-level of customer support to landlords and subtenants.Essential Functions:Collaborates with Operations Controllers to ensure the accuracy of the financial books, partnering with Business Development and Legal to ensure compliance with contractual rent terms and lease agreementsProvides accounting assistance in the rent and subtenant departments within Corporate Accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysisSupports lease reporting activities through data analysis, technology solutions, and interpretation of lease termsAssists with creating and amending leases, verifying accuracy and integrity of sales mapping tables and rent calculation parametersResponds to landlords and sublandlords, Development, Development Finance, Operations, and other stakeholders regarding rent-related inquiries, audits, and reporting requirementsMaintains strong working relationships with landlords and sublandlords to resolve rent-related matters, address disputes, and ensure timely resolution of issuesReporting Relationship: The Staff Accountant II reports to the Senior Manager of Rent AccountingMinimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment:Education and Experience: The combination of education and professional experience must exceed 5 years:In a technical role: Requires 5 years of experience engaged in delivering accounting programs; rent accounting experience strongly preferredA bachelor's degree in a program related to the functional area can count for 3 of the 5-year requirementIn the industry: 3+ years of hospitality, F&B and/or retail experienceSpecialized Training:Training that leads to strong knowledge of GAAP principles and their practical applicationKnowledge of state and federal tax regulations and statutesSpecialized Skillset/Competencies/Traits:Solid Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis functionsExperience with PeopleSoft Financials and SAP a plusAnalytical skills to interpret financial data, identify root causes of variances, and develop solutionsHigh level of accuracy in work product with strong quality control mindsetFlexibility to adjust to changing priorities; ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlinesBusiness acumen and also has the mindset required to understand the long-term implications of accounting to advance the organization's goalsDemonstrated history of understanding the needs of the business, stakeholders, the employee population, and individual circumstancesDemonstrated history of creating and maintaining positive work environmentsLocation: This position is based at the North America Support Center in Bethesda, MDAvolta, including Dufry, HMSHost Corporation, Hudson, and affiliates ("the Company"), is an equal opportunity employer.
