Job Title: Industrial Painter

Job Description

This role focuses on preparing and finishing industrial structures and enclosures through high-quality painting and coating processes. You clean, sand, and prime surfaces, mix paints to precise specifications, and apply coatings using a variety of tools and equipment. You ensure all work meets quality standards, perform touch-ups as needed, and follow strict safety protocols while maintaining painting tools and machinery.

Responsibilities

• Clean, sand, grind, and prepare surfaces for painting and coating applications.
• Apply primers to surfaces to ensure proper adhesion and durability of topcoats.
• Mix paints and coatings to achieve the required consistency, finish, and color specifications.
• Apply paints and coatings using spray guns, brushes, rollers, and specialized industrial painting equipment.
• Perform topcoat applications and finish paint work to meet quality and appearance standards.
• Inspect completed work for defects, imperfections, or inconsistencies and perform necessary touch-ups or corrections.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of hazardous materials.
• Maintain painting equipment and tools, including spray guns and related machinery, and perform routine maintenance as needed.
• Report any equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or production issues promptly to ensure minimal downtime.
• Support painting and finishing operations for industrial structure enclosures such as energy enclosures, rail enclosures, and power generator enclosures.

Essential Skills

• 3–5 years of manufacturing or industrial painting experience.
• Proficiency in industrial painting techniques, including surface preparation and paint application.
• Experience with paint prep activities such as sanding, grinding, and cleaning surfaces.
• Ability to apply industrial paints using spray guns and other related equipment.
• Hands-on experience with sanding and sandblasting for surface preparation.
• Knowledge of powder coating processes and applications.
• Understanding of safety practices related to industrial painting and handling of hazardous materials.
• Ability to inspect finished surfaces and identify defects or areas requiring touch-up.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Industrial painting experience required.
• Aviation painting experience is welcome and considered a strong asset.
• Autobody painting experience is welcome and considered a strong asset.
• Experience in painting complex structures such as energy enclosures, rail enclosures, or power generator enclosures is beneficial.
• Comfort working with various painting tools, spray systems, and industrial coatings.

Work Environment

The work takes place in a semi climate-controlled industrial facility that is heated during the winter to support comfort and consistent productivity. You work a Monday through Thursday schedule from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with overtime available on Fridays as needed. The environment centers around building and finishing industrial structure enclosures, such as energy enclosures, railroad train enclosures, and power generator enclosures. You regularly use spray guns, sanding tools, sandblasting equipment, and powder coating systems, and you follow established safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), while working around industrial materials and coatings.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tulsa, OK.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $26.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Tulsa,OK.
