Job Summary:
The healthcare professional specializing in Step Down Unit located in Waco, Texas, will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a 30-bed step-down unit that floats between critical care service lines. This role requires clinical expertise in managing patients with complex conditions such as acute coronary syndromes, post-surgical care, sepsis, respiratory failure, and other critical illnesses, ensuring seamless patient transitions and adherence to safety protocols.

Job Details:

• Location: Waco, Texas
• Shift: Nights, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and minimum 1 year of experience in Step Down, Telemetry, or similar units
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with HFNC (High-Flow Nasal Cannula), BIPAP (Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure), management of stable GTT (Gastrointestinal Tube) patients, and familiarity with procedures such as AAA (Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm) repair, lobectomy, carotid endarterectomy (CEA), and cardiovascular or vascular surgical procedures
• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week
• Additional Information: The position involves floating between critical care service lines within a 30-bed step-down unit, managing patients with conditions such as NSTEMI, STEMI, ACS, arrhythmias, sepsis, gastrointestinal bleeds, post-DKA stabilization, respiratory failure, and postoperative care from cardiac surgeries. Candidates must be proficient in clinical assessment and have a strong understanding of emergency protocols and patient safety standards.
