Fabrication Welder

Overview Panelmatic, Inc. designs and builds custom electrical, instrument, and pneumatic control panels for manufacturing industries. We provide design, fabrication, testing, and delivery of control packages for diverse clients worldwide, complying with domestic and international standards. Job Summary Panelmatic Inc. is seeking a dedicated and skilled Fabrication Welder. The Fabrication Welder produces a variety of sheet metal parts that meet dimensional requirements. Set up and align parts per shop prints in preparation for welding, perform welding operations, and complete final fabrication assembly. Work independently or as part of a small team to produce metal buildings and enclosures. Job Duties Reference shop prints to determine weld locations and meet size and length requirements MIG welds mild and stainless steel Create basic fittings Adjust machines to maintain proper welds Remove material using grinding processes Read drawings and inspect parts for basic dimensions Perform basic layouts (positioning and alignment) Inspect parts against complex engineered drawings Spray transfer MIG welds Examine weld beads for acceptable attributes Perform cope and fit Maintain overall dimensions, square and plum during welding Finish grind and surface finishing as required Repair improper welds Tack welds and stud welds Square parts and perform torch cutting Notify the lead person or Inspector when the product is ready for inspection Maintain a clean and safe work area and return tools to proper locations Minimum Qualifications Two plus years of experience welding in a manufacturing or industrial setting Two plus years of experience with basic tools (squares, clamps, fillet gauge, angle grinder, etc.) Two plus years of experience with equipment such as shear, brake press, turret punch, CNC laser, ironworker, band saw, welding machine, cutting torch, plasma cutter, grinder, overhead crane, and related hand tools Two plus years of experience with applicable Quality Assurance Procedures (QAPs) Strong organizational and time-management skills Analytical, observational, and active listening skills High reliability and excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to pass physical, drug, driving, and background checks Ability to push, pull, and lift 50 lbs or more Ability to stoop, bend, and sit/stand for extended periods Ability to read a tape measure and prints Ability to convert decimals to fractions and use conversion charts Excellent manual dexterity and color vision Alignment with company core values Preferred Qualifications 1G and 3G welding certifications High school diploma or equivalent Two plus years of forklift operating experience; forklift certification preferred Testing Requirements Welding test required Benefits Medical, dental, vision, HSA, term life, AD&D, STD, and LTD coverage Employee-only medical premium paid by Panelmatic; partial contribution for other levels 401(k) contributions matched up to 4% Scholarships, educational reimbursement, and paid volunteerism PTO and paid holidays Career advancement opportunities and competitive wages Family-friendly environment with long-tenured employees #J-18808-Ljbffr
