Clinical Faculty Position

Position Summary The Department of Pediatrics seeks to hire a Clinical Faculty Position to join the Division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine (GPAM) at the University of North Carolina. This position will provide clinical care to the pediatric and adolescent population in both the outpatient and inpatient settings, working closely with Section Heads of General Pediatrics, Child Maltreatment, and Adolescent Medicine within GPAM. The faculty member will work in a program that includes board certified general pediatricians, child abuse pediatricians, adolescent medicine specialists, nurse practitioners, and LCSWs; a portion of the role involves medical education and supervision of advanced practice providers. This open‑rank, open track position has an FTE between 0.5 and 1.0 and is appointed in the School of Medicine at UNC Chapel Hill. Clinical Efforts May Include a Combination Of The Following Pediatric diagnostic care, with potential for medical education and academic activities. Child abuse inpatient consultations at the UNC Medical Center. Inpatient care at the Youth Behavioral Hospital (YBH) in Butner, NC, a 50‑plus patient child and adolescent psychiatric hospital; the faculty member will function as a core member of the medical team providing services for adolescents at YBH. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements M.D.; Board certified/eligible in Pediatrics. Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience Clinical experience or training in outpatient and inpatient settings; experience in medical education and/or contributions to academic scholarship.
