Cardiovascular Operating Room Technician

We are seeking a skilled Cardiovascular Operating Room Technician to join our team. This role is integral to the surgical services department, specifically in cardiovascular procedures. The technician will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room environment.

Unit Information

• Number of Suites: 6 Operating Rooms (including 1 Cardiovascular OR and 1 Hybrid Room)
• Average Daily Cases: 20-30 (including 1-2 Cardiovascular surgeries or up to 4 Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacements)
• Common Procedures: CABG, Aortic Valve Replacement, Mitral Valve Replacement, TAVR

Schedule

Shifts are Monday through Friday from 0600 to 1430, with the expectation of on-call availability up to 50% of the time, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room and surgical instruments for procedures.
• Assist surgeons during cardiovascular operations by scrubbing and providing necessary support.
• Ensure all equipment is functioning correctly and that the sterile environment is maintained.
• Collaborate with the surgical team for optimal patient care.

Qualifications

• Required Certifications: ACLS and BLS for Registered Nurses; BLS for Technicians.
• Minimum of 1 year of open heart surgical experience.
• Experience in scrubbing for cardiovascular procedures is necessary.

Support Structure

A charge nurse and specialty leads are available as resources during shifts. A house supervisor is on-site from 6 PM to 7 AM only.

Technology

The electronic medical record system utilized is Cerner.

This position is set in an acute care environment with a focus on cardiovascular specialties, providing a dynamic and fast-paced workspace.
