POSITION SUMMARY:

The Pre-Weigh Operator is responsible for accurately organizing, weighing, and recording raw materials in support of production work orders. Using pre-weigh tools, calibrated scales, and Deacom software, the operator documents weights, lot numbers, and quantities in accordance with formulas and cGMP requirements. The role requires strong basic math skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team to ensure materials are prepared correctly and efficiently for downstream manufacturing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

·         Read, understand, and follow batch records, pick lists, and work instructions in English.

·         Use computers to perform transactional work, including work order processing and scheduling through Lean Kit.

·         Review and cross-check picking lists against physical materials to ensure accuracy before weighing.

·         Use strong basic math skills to calculate required quantities and determine proper weigh-ups.

·         Weigh raw materials using pre-weigh tools, calibrated scales, and approved procedures.

·         Record all weights, lot numbers, and material details accurately on batch records and in Deacom.

·         Use the scale system to track weighed quantities, remaining amounts, and partials.

·         Label materials correctly and stage or move completed weigh-ups to designated warehouse locations both physically and transactionally.

·         Maintain organized pre-weigh areas, ensuring materials are properly identified, segregated, and handled according to cGMP requirements.

·         Communicate discrepancies, damaged materials, or out-of-spec findings to the Lead, Supervisor, or Quality immediately.

·         Follow all safety, hygiene, and GMP practices to maintain a compliant work environment.

·         Perform additional duties as assigned to support production needs.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS:   The Pre-Weigh position directly reports to the Pre-Weigh Lead and Indirectly to the Warehouse Operations Manager. They will work closely with different departments in the warehouse and in Manufacturing. The receiving, warehouse, blending, and manufacturing departments are all areas where the employee will need to work with cross functionally.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED

Experience:

·         Preferred experience in solid dosage manufacturing.

·         Preferred prior experience in a GMP environment.

·         Experience with basic mechanical equipment or machinery operation (preferred but not required).

·         Familiarity with production documentation or batch records (preferred).

·         Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

·         Demonstrated reliability and consistent attendance in prior roles.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

·         Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

·         Able to bend, stretch, and stand for extended periods during the work shift.

·         Communicates effectively to follow and complete assigned tasks.

·         Understands written and verbal instructions in English.

·         Basic mechanical aptitude to operate and adjust tablet press equipment safely.

·         Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

·         Ability to perform basic math (weights, measurements, counts).

·         Attention to detail to identify defects, inconsistencies, or equipment issues.

·         Ability to work safely around moving machinery and follow all safety protocols.

·         Basic computer or documentation skills to record production data accurately.

Ability to work independently while maintaining productivity and quality expectations.
