Allied / Tech - Cath Lab Tech

This is a travel position for a Cath Lab Tech at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center. The shift is from 08:00 AM to 04:00 PM, with 5 shifts per week and 40 scheduled hours. The contract starts on August 10, 2026, and ends on November 9, 2026, for a duration of 13 weeks.

The job description includes IR/CATH LAB TECH with ASAP start. Orientation is every Monday. The schedule is 5x8-hour days, Monday through Friday from 07:00 to 15:30, and Wednesday from 09:00 to 17:30 (40 hours guaranteed). Locals within 60 miles are accepted at a lower rate. The candidate must successfully pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and a score of 100% on lethal rhythms. IR experience is required, along with ARRT-R, ACLS, BLS, and fluoro permit. An MD license is required, and 2 years of experience are needed, including travel experience. Every other holiday is required, with no on-call or weekends.

The unit handles cases in CT and X-ray, but floating to these areas is not required. Scrubbing for IR, vascular, and pain procedures is mandatory. Proficiency in operating the Philips Azurion C-arm and the portable C-arm is required.

Procedural types include: Interventional: Tunneled catheter placements (e.g., mediports, permcaths, Hickman lines), embolizations, drain placements, suprapubic catheter placements, PEG tube placements, and Pleurx catheter placements. Pain Management: Epidural blocks, radiofrequency ablations. Vascular: Angiograms, thrombectomies, fistulograms, IVC filter placements.
