Job Title: Welder I – Spot Weld Location: Richmond, VA What We Are Looking For This position is responsible for spot welding shelves to join steel parts for use in the assembly process. Essential Competencies Operate resistance welder, robotic welder, MIG and/or TIG welding. Basic understanding of spot welding, computer programs for setup of machine and tips used to spot weld. Identify proper tools for spot welding fixtures on shelves. (Stainless to GU) Ability to read and comprehend all work orders and blueprints. Perform preventative maintenance on spot weld machines. Ability to communicate status of assigned projects to supervisors. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Quantifiable Competencies Previous Buffing experience required. Must be able to operate power tools and perform tasks that require fine motor skills (ex: threading nuts onto bolts, starting a screw, etc.) Preferred Competencies Previous welding experience in a manufacturing environment. Must be able to lift with or without mechanical aids on a recurring basis (up to 50 lbs) Work is performed within a production environment, subject to temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise levels and dust.
